Terms & Conditions

By booking or attending The Hideaway, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. If booking on behalf of others, please ensure everyone in your group is aware of them and follows the safety guidance provided.

Health & wellbeing

Use of the sauna, cold plunge and other wellness facilities is voluntary and guests are responsible for considering their own health and suitability before taking part.

Please seek medical advice before using the sauna or cold plunge if you are pregnant, taking relevant medication, have a medical condition, or are unsure whether heat or cold exposure is appropriate for you. Particular care should be taken with heart or circulatory conditions, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, diabetes, respiratory conditions, or a tendency to faint or become dizzy.

Always listen to your body. Leave the sauna or cold plunge immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, unwell or uncomfortable.

Sauna & cold plunge

For those new to sauna, we recommend beginning with 5–10 minutes. Sauna rounds should generally be no longer than 15 minutes, with adequate rest, cooling and hydration between rounds. These times are not targets – your body is the guide.

Sit on a towel, remove jewellery and glasses where appropriate, and never touch the sauna stove or flue. Only water provided for this purpose may be poured onto the sauna stones.

Cold plunging is always optional. Enter and exit slowly, never jump or dive, keep your breathing controlled and leave the water whenever your body tells you to.

Please follow all safety instructions provided at The Hideaway.

Age restrictions

The Hideaway’s sauna and cold plunge facilities are for ages 16+ only.

Babes-in-arms may attend certain suitable stays or gatherings by prior arrangement but are not permitted to use the sauna or cold plunge. Some events may be adults-only.

Alcohol, drugs & smoking

The Hideaway is an alcohol and recreational drug-free space. Please do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted within The Hideaway retreat area.

We reserve the right to refuse use of the facilities or ask someone to leave if we believe their condition or behaviour presents a safety risk.

Respecting The Hideaway

The Hideaway sits within our private family smallholding. Your booking provides access to the designated Hideaway area only; please do not wander into other areas of the land.

Please respect the accommodation, facilities, wildlife and natural environment and follow instructions relating to the wood-fired sauna, bell-tent stove, fire pit, BBQ and other equipment.

Open fires and lit stoves must never be left unattended.

Outdoor environment & weather

The Hideaway is a rural, largely off-grid outdoor experience. Uneven or slippery ground, mud, insects, wildlife and changing weather are natural parts of the environment. Please bring suitable clothing and footwear and take appropriate care.

Bookings will normally continue in rain and ordinary poor weather. In severe weather or conditions that make the site unsafe, we may need to modify, postpone or cancel a booking. If The Hideaway cancels your booking, we will offer an alternative date or appropriate refund.

Bookings & cancellations

Payment is required to secure your booking.

Cancellation and rescheduling terms are displayed during the booking process and apply to your individual booking. Please check these carefully before confirming.

Where an event is run by an independent practitioner or facilitator, additional booking terms may apply and will be made clear at the time of booking.

Practitioner hire

Practitioners and facilitators hiring The Hideaway are responsible for the appropriate management of their own clients or guests and for holding suitable qualifications, professional insurance and any consents required for the services they provide.

All Hideaway site and facility safety requirements must still be followed.

Damage & belongings

Please treat The Hideaway and its facilities with care and let us know about any damage or breakages. We reserve the right to charge for significant damage caused deliberately, recklessly or through failure to follow the instructions provided.

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings while visiting The Hideaway.

Responsibility & safety

Sauna bathing, cold-water immersion, open fires and spending time in a rural environment involve inherent risks. We take reasonable steps to maintain our facilities safely and provide appropriate instructions for their use. Guests are expected to follow these instructions and use the facilities responsibly.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Your agreement

Additional safety and arrival information may be provided before or during your visit and should be followed as part of your booking.

By completing a booking, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read these Terms & Conditions and agree to abide by them.
